"My practice is and will always be privately owned and operated; focused on delivering the best results and patient experience.
I am the last oral surgeon in McLean and one of the last in DC who is not associated with a dental corporation or Private Equity firm, which are commercially driven."

About Zach Saltman, DMD
Bio
Dr. Saltman is a board certified oral & maxillofacial surgeon and nationally-recognized authority in dental implantology, full-mouth implant reconstruction, and zirconia (metal-free, ceramic) implants. Dr. Saltman is the only surgeon in the Washington DC metropolitan area who trained with zirconia implants, and he has pioneered entirely new surgical protocols for zirconia dental implant reconstructions.

Dr. Saltman is the sole oral surgeon for the elite Georgetown University Head & Neck Cancer Surgery team, performing life-changing “jaw-in-a-day” surgeries and even inventing novel reconstruction techniques that give oropharyngeal cancer survivors significantly more natural jaw anatomy and teeth than is offered anywhere else in the world. With his unique skillset he is also the only surgeon in the world performing jaw-in-a-day reconstruction with zirconia implants. He co-authored a textbook with the Johns Hopkins Head & Neck cancer team and is known as the surgeon to go see when a patient has been told that “they are not a candidate for dental implants.”

After matriculating from University of Pennsylvania and soaring to the top of his class in dental school at Temple University, Dr. Saltman was accepted to his first choice surgical residency program to receive the most advanced dental implant training in the world as a direct understudy to world-renowned dental implant prosthodontist and best-selling textbook author, Dr. Hamid Shafie. In addition to the most cutting-edge surgical implant training available, Dr. Saltman also completed a full “advanced implant prosthetics” fellowship through the American Institute of Implant Dentistry outside of normal residency training, becoming a master not only of surgical technique but also implant prosthetics, because Dr. Saltman believes that one cannot be an excellent implant surgeon without also cultivating a mastery of the prosthetics that are installed on the implants.

As Dr. Shafie put it, “Dr. Saltman learned everything I had to offer in residency and took that training to a level beyond what I ever imagined was possible. I trained ‘master craftsmen,’ but Dr. Saltman is the only surgeon I have ever called an ‘artist,’ who expresses his artistry through his surgeries.” The community of dentists in DC would agree, as they have voted Dr. Saltman a “Top Doctor” in oral & maxillofacial surgery in Washingtonian Magazine every election year since he founded his unique practice.
Dr. Saltman grew up in St. Louis, MO and brings his Midwestern kindness and candor to work every day. In addition to his academic achievements, his experience in amateur comedy and screenwriting is evident from his sense of humor and fun-loving spirit. He and his fiancé live in Washington, DC with their dog and three cats and are passionate supporters of the local music community.
